2013 Silver Dollar Speedway Awards Banquet
CHICO, CA (10-7-13) -Â Keeping with the tradition of Friday night racing, the Silver Dollar Speedway will host their end of the year awards banquet Friday night, November 8th, at the Feather Falls Casino in Oroville. This marks the second year in a row that our Championship banquet will be held at Feather Falls Casino and Lodge. The no host cocktails will start flowing at 6:30 pm with dinner to start at 7:30 pm. Around 8:15 pm the award presentations will begin.
This year a record number of eight different divisions raced for a Championship at the Silver Dollar Speedway. With this said, seating is limited and we recommend to purchase your tickets as soon as possible. To purchase reserved tickets please call the track office at 530-350-7275. The tickets are $40.00 per person and need to be purchased by November 1st.
Numerous Champions will be crowned at the awards banquet. Roseville driver Sean Becker will be on hand to receive his third Silver Dollar Speedway driving title while his team will receive their second championship in a row. Repeat champions seem to be the theme this year. Anderson's Rowdy McClenon (wingless sprints), Orland's Jake Vantol (street stock), Yuba City's Duane Cleveland (dirt modified) and Marysville's Misty Castleberry (mini stock) were all previous champions at the track and will win their second track titles. Olivehurst's Ryan McDaniel, limited late model champion, will win his first title in this division but has numerous dirt modified championships. Sacramento's Brian Compton (hobby stock) and Marysville's Kyle Standley (economy sprints) are first time champions at Silver Dollar Speedway.
Other awards to be handed out will include the David Tarter Rookie of the Year Award, the Sprint Car Dedication Award, the Kevin Ward Inspirational Award and Rookie of the Year awards in all divisions.
Next Monday, October 14th, tickets go on sale for the 2014 Gold Cup Race of Champions. The event will mark its 61st year of existence and will once again remain a four-day race with the popular World of Outlaws as the headlining act. Ticket office will open at 8:00 am. Purchase tickets by calling 530-350-7275.
