Allard Wows Crowd For 50th Career Victory

CHICO, CA (5-9-14) - Jonathan Allard held off a fierce charge by Mason Moore in the closing laps of the Main Event to secure his 50th Career victory at the famed Silver Dollar Speedway. The win also marked his first win for Clyde Lamar aboard the Tri-C Machine, 3c car. "Getting this win is such a relief, and I'm so happy to win it on Mothers Day for all the Moms out there." stated an elated Jonathan Allard in Victory Lane. Other winners during Tri-Counties Bank Points Race #7 included, Ryan McDaniel in both the Dirt Modifieds and Ltd. Late Models, Chris Warner in the Street Stock Division, and Jesse Skidmore picked up the win in the exciting Hobby Stock Main Event.

At the drop of the Green Flag for the 410 Sprint Cars, Placerville, Ca's Andy Gregg jumped out to the early lead from his Pole Position starting spot aboard the Miller Fortune, Brian Cannon wrenched #53 machine. After a red Flag for Bud Walberg and multiple other yellow flags Gregg would lead the first 2 laps of the race. But Jonathan Allard would find the high line of the race track coming off of turn four on lap two and snag the lead away on lap 3. Once out front Allard began to check out from the rest of the field. However, on lap 12, Princeton's Mason Moore would get by Andy Gregg for 2nd and slowly begin to reel Allard back in. With 5 laps to go Moore was right on Allard's back bumper. With 3 laps to go Moore would throw a slider on Allard in turn three but just barely didn't clear him and Allard was able to retain the lead and go on to win his 50th Career Main Event. The win puts him in sole position of 3rd place on the all time win list at Silver Dollar Speedway. Mason Moore would follow closely behind and finish in the 2nd position aboard the Moore Insurance, Richard Brown Wrenched #22 car, and will be your new Points Leader after this race, Sean Becker quietly worked his way up to a 3rd place finish aboard the Menne Motorsports #75 Hot Rod, Andy Gregg would slip back to 4th in the late stages of the race, and Logan Forler piloted the Forler Trucking #2L to a solid 5th place finish. Andy Gregg set the fastest lap of the night in qualifying with a blistering time of 12.814. While Boise, Idaho's Logan Forler and Chico's own Kenny Allen picked up the Heat Race Victories.

Ryan McDaniel showcased tonight why he is a 3 time Dirt Modified Champion at Silver Dollar Speedway. Ryan would lead all 20 laps on his way to picking up the victory. Randy McDaniel had a solid 2nd place run and should still be the Point Leader going into their next event. Duane Cleveland rebounded from an early race flat tire to come home 3rd. While Chris Olexiewicz drove from 12th to 4th. With Dan Dozier rounding out the top five. Heat Race victories were claimed by Duane Cleveland and Ryan McDaniel.

Ryan McDaniel pulled double duty tonight and claimed the clean sweep by also winning the Ltd. Late Model Main Event. Duane Cleveland would lead the first two laps of the Main Event before slowing and eventually pulling to the pits. From there on out it was all Ryan McDaniel, lapping all the way up to the 4th place car and winning by more than 12 seconds. The ICON Forged Racing Pistons, Farnham Farms #1 of Ryan McDaniel extends his Point Lead with the win. Willy McMillen had a strong 2nd place finish, while 84 year old driver Larry Damitz would finish in the 3rd position. Matt Micheli would finish 4th, and Dominic Stone rounded out the top 5. Heat Race victories were picked up by Ryan McDaniel and Dominic Stone.

According to 410 Sprint Car driver Andy Forsberg, the Hobby Stock Main Event was the show of the night. To say it was filled with drama is an understatement. David Pierce would lead early in the race. But on an early restart both the #8 of Loren Driess and the #63 of Mike Funkhouser would both jump the restart. So while they thought they were battling each other for the lead it was all for not, as when another caution came out both cars were assessed penalties thus turning the lead over to Point Leader Jesse Skidmore. Funkhouser and Driess were both not happy with the penalty as it took a lot of explaining to get the lineup situated. Once the race went back green Skidmore would lead the field into turn one and two only to spin and collect Funkhouser and Brian Compton. Skidmore though never came to a complete spot thus retaining his position as the leader of the race. Once things were all figured out Jesse Skidmore and Loren Driess would battle hard for the victory with Skidmore winning by half a car length at the stripe over Driess, 3rd place would go to Clinton Earl, while Mike Funkhouser, and Alex Sohnrey rounded out the top five. Heat Race Victories were claimed by Jesse Skidmore and Brian Cooper.

The Street Stock Main Event saw a fierce battle between Chris Warner and Jake VanTol with Warner coming out victorious and taking over the early season Point Lead. VanTol would pull away from the field early in the race, but as the laps clicked by Warner was able to reel him and and finally sneak by. VanTol though would hang on to finish 2nd, Shawn Smith would come home in the 3rd position, while Heather Bartlett would come out of retirement to secure a solid top five finish in the 4th slot, while Gary Newman rounded out the top five. Heat Race victories were claimed by Chris Warner and Jake VanTol.

Thank You all for coming out and supporting Silver Dollar Speedway on O'Rielly Auto Parts and AKB Night at the races. Be sure to come back this upcoming friday night, May 16th. We will be holding our April 4th Makeup Race, featuring the 410 Sprint Cars, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Ltd. Late Models, Hobby Stocks, and Permazyme Wingless Sprint Cars.
