Perma-Zyme Wingless Bonus on line This Friday at Chico

CHICO, CA (7-15-14) - With the unfortunate cancelation of the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Shootout Series this Saturday at Orland Speed bowl the Silver Dollar Speedway, along with our wingless title sponsor Perma-Zyme, is offering extra money and a place for the wingless division to race. Promoter Dennis Gage is offering $800.00 to win the 20-lap main event this Friday night based on 14 cars in the pits. Usually that purse is reserved for 18 or more, however, the track is compromising to hopefully get a decent car count and put more money on the line for those faithful wingless sprint drivers. A second place finish will pay $500.00 and third is $300.00.

The Wingless division will also run a special four car, four lap dash with the winner receiving a trophy and a prize pack courtesy of Tommy Hall and Konnected Clothing Company. Please visit the Konnected Clothing Company through Facebook and read about this incredible business that is making a difference in our world. If a driver that wins the dash has a Konnected Clothing Company sticker on their car, Hall has promised an extra bonus.

This Friday night, July 18, the Tri Counties Bank point championship series #11 continues with a five division race night featuring the 360 winged sprint cars, the Perma-Zyme wingless series, Hobby Stocks, Economy Sprints and Vintage Hardtops.

Pit gate is scheduled to open at 4 pm with the front gate at 6 pm. Racing is slated to begin at 7 pm. Adult general admission is $13.00, juniors and seniors $11.00 and kids $6.00. Five and under are free.

The top names in winged 360 sprint car racing are scheduled this Friday night led by current track point leader Sean Becker of Roseville, Auburn's Andy Forsberg, Visalia's Steven Tiner, Placerville's Andy Gregg and Princeton's Mason Moore along with many more.

Jesse Skidmore is the current Hobby Stock point leader heading into this Friday nights race. Skidmore has won two of the five main events completed at Chico this year. Just five points behind is defending track champion Brian Compton. Like Skidmore, Compton has two feature wins this season. Cherokee driver Kyle Allen sits in the third spot, 22-points behind, and the final driver with a legit chance at the championship. Paradise driver David Pierce holds on to the fourth spot while Sean Halterman rounds out the top five.

The winged economy sprints are having a three way heated battle for the championship. Jason Standley leads the field but by just one championship point over Scott Gannett. Ron Wyman is in the third spot, yet, he is just three points behind Standley. Shawna Overton has been a loyal supporter of the race track and sits fourth in the points.

Vintage Hardtops will make their second appearance in the past few weeks at Chico. This division offers the fans a glimpse of what racing was like in the past. Nostalgia is a big part of auto racing and it is always good to see how the cars have progressed from its earliest form.
