Bud Kaeding takes home big money at the 25th Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial

CHICO, CA (5-2-15) - After winning the dash Campbell's Bud Kaeding led the 22-car field down to the green flag searching for his first Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial victory and initial King of the West Sprint Car Series victory of the 2015 season.

Kaeding, in just his second season aboard the Williams Motorsports No. 0 jumped out to the lead over outside pole sitter Cason Macedo. Mason Moore who started inside row two got by Macedo on lap two and set his sights on Kaeding. Moore was closing in on Kaeding on lap twelve when the red flag would waive for Justyn Cox getting upside down in turn three. Cox was ok. The field lined up for a double file restart with Moore capitalizing on the high side of the race track in turns one and two getting around Kaeding for the lead.

Moore extended his lead over the field until lap 28 when Kaeding tracked him down to take the lead back over. The caution flag would waive on lap 37 for Jonathan Allard spinning to a stop in turn two. With a single file restart Macedo and Dominic Scelzi would get by Moore for second and third. Moore would make a move to get back into the top three on lap 38 but would spin to a stop down the back stretch ending his night. Kaeding brought the field back to green pulling away to lead the final three laps to claim victory of the 25th annual Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial Race. Kaeding joins his father Brent Kaeding and brother Tim Kaeding as winners of the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial race.

It was Bud's 11th career KWS victory, which moves him into sole possession of 10th on the all-time King of the West Sprint Car Series win list. He also earned an extra $500 bonus from Roth Motorsports and took home $1700 worth of lap money in the A-main.

Lemoore's Carson Macedo had fallen back from his outside pole starting position to 7th aboard the WFO Apparel/ Tarlton & Son No. 21X on lap 22. Macedo was able to work his way back up through the field of cars the second half of the race to come home in second. Fresno's Dominic Scelzi rounded out the podium piloting his family owned Scelzi Enterprises backed machine. Scelzi never fell below his fifth place starting spot as he battled veteran drives Sean Becker and Jonathan Allard much of the race.

Roseville's Sean Becker started fourth and had moved into the third spot to battle with Moore for second until contact between the two drivers shuffled Becker back to 11th. Becker was able to work his way back up thru the field to finish fourth. Fremont's Shane Golobic who started 13th worked his way thru the field to round out the top five. Minden, NV driver Tanner Thorson scored his career best King of the West finish crossing the stripe in sixth after starting 19th earning the hard charger award. For his efforts he earned $500 cash from Brad Johnson Trucking, Davy Thomas and Man Camp Motorsports. Steven Tiner finished seventh, Brent Kaeding eighth, Bobby McMahan ninth, and Colby Copeland rounding out the top ten.

Bud Kaeding started the night out with the fastest lap around the Silver Dollar Speedway with a lap of 12.050. He earned $2300 cash courtesy Rico Abreu Racing, Kyle Larson, Backyard Dreams, Gloria & Manny Avilla, 50th Stater, Robyn & Jason Meyers, Mancamp Motorsports, Julie Ripperger, Top Wing, Wayne Fisher and Andrew Kunas.
