California IMCA Speedweek Finale Goes to Reichenbach

Reichenbach Wins California IMCA Speedweek finale at Silver Dollar Speedway

By: Gus Fedora Thomas

Chico, CA – May 8, 2021…Santa Maria’s Clint Reichenbach won the thrilling Saturday night 25-lap Dirt Modified event at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico.  Tonight’s race concluded the 2021 California IMCA Speedweek.  A total of 27 competitors entertained the fans for the final leg of the tour.

Tricky Troy Folger of Oakley finished in the second spot.  Folger was solid for the entire 25-lap event.  Fellow Oakley resident Buddy Kniss ran third.  Fourth went to Martinez gasser Nick DeCarlo.  The hard charger of the night was local champion Ryan McDaniel.  McDaniel won the 12-lap B main event just to get him into the feature.  From there, in typical McDaniel fashion, he charged through the field and gained 12 spots to finish 5th.  The Olivehurst driver was thrilling to watch.

Rio Linda’s Raymond Lindeman was second to McDaniel in the B feature.  Third was Oroville’s Chris Lewis.  South San Francisco driver Justin Yaeger earned the fourth and final transfer to the main event.

Bakersfield masher Tyler Bannister put on a thrilling show and won the exciting IMCA Sport Mod feature.  Fellow Bakersfield competitor Jason Nation finished second.  Third went to Jason Bannister.  Grass Valley’s Andrew Peckham was the class of the local drivers and finished fourth.  Tanner Thomas improved 13 spots during the 25-lap feature to round out the top five.

Red Oak, IA driver Josh Most won the exciting B feature for the Northern IMCA Sport Mods.  Tanner Thomas was second.  Third spot went to Chris Falkenberg.  Falkenberg gained eight spots to make the big dance.  Merced’s Cody Parker was the fourth and final transfer.

Thirty drivers entered the finale for the IMCA Sport Mods.

Making his first career start at Silver Dollar Speedway, Yuba City’s David Sims led all 20-laps to win the Crate Sprint feature.  Sims dominated the entire night by winning the six lap first heat.  Yuba City’s Dusty Barton won the second and final heat.  A total of 10 cars competed as the third division of the night.  The Crate Sprints were added to the Silver Dollar Speedway schedule and return on Sunday night, May 30th.
