Wild Wingless Wednesday and Thursday Night at Gold Cup

(8/30/2021) Chico, CA…After a three-year hiatus, the popular Wingless Spec sprints are back on tap Wednesday and Thursday night, September 8^th, and 9^th, at the 67^th Gold Cup Race of Champions.  These talented drivers will race in two separate shows for a $1,000 to win each night.  Wingless Spec Sprints were a mainstay at the Silver Dollar Speedway for years and will compliment the winged 360 Platinum Cup on those same nights.

The Wingless Spec Sprints debuted at Silver Dollar Speedway on June 18, 2004.  From 2005 until 2017 the class was a weekly Friday night point championship division.  The last Wingless Spec sprint car race at Chico was held on September 5^th of 2018.  The winner that night was Casey McClain.

Terry Schank Jr. dominated the division at Silver Dollar Speedway.  Schank Jr. won an unprecedented 38 times.  Second on the all-time win list is Darrell Hanestad with 12 wins.  Billy Wallace and Tony Richards are the only two other drivers with double digit career wins with 10.  The entire list is fascinating to look at and can be found at Elijah Jones website called https://norcalracinghistory.com/

Gold Cup single day reserved, and general admission tickets went on sale Sunday, August 15, 2021.  For reserved seating you must call the office at 530-350-7275. The track office is open Monday through Thursday 10am to 4pm.  Reserved tickets are not available online. Reserved seating includes the entire main grandstand and seating in the top half of the bleachers in Turn 1 and Turn 4. The four-day package is also still available.

General admission tickets are available by phone or online at www.silverdollarspeedway.com and include seating in the lower half of the bleachers in Turn 1 and Turn 4 only. These seats are on a first come first serve basis. Kids 11 and under are free on Wednesday and Thursday only.

All reserved and general admission tickets will also be available at the gate each night beginning at 5PM and from 9 AM to 4 PM daily in the ticket office at the track the week of Gold Cup.

Prices are as follows. Reserved Seating, Wed. $25, Thurs $30, Friday $45, and Saturday $55. General admission, Wed. $15, Thurs $20, Friday $30, and Saturday $40. Kids are free Wed and Thursday. Kids are $15 for Friday and $20 for Saturday.
