Netto Wins Fair Race, Flournoy Earns Hobby Stock Top Honors

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / Silver Dollar Speedway
DJ Netto Wins Fair Race, Flournoy Grabs Hobby Stock Win

CHICO, Calif., May 26, 2024…Hanford’s DJ Netto electrified the estimated 3,000 fans Sunday at the Silver Dollar Fair. Netto blasted around the racetrack and used the very top of the surface to record the dominating win. It was Netto’s second win of the year at Chico. On March 15th Netto won on the Friday night of Mini Gold Cup. Netto started sixth and rocketed into the lead just past the halfway point. Netto earned a cool $4,000 for the 30-lap win on a Sunday night in Chico. Dylan Bloomfield continues to impress. The driver from Oakley had a spirited battle with veteran Andy Forsberg for second late in the race. Bloomfield was able to fend off Forsberg and grabbed the second spot. Forsberg finished in the third spot.

Max Mittry started the night by turning the quickest lap in qualifying. Mittry’s lap was an impressive 11.946 seconds. The only other driver in the 11-second bracket was Michael Faccinto who turned a lap at 11.979. Mittry picked up a $100 poker chip to be used at Tiner Hirst Enterprises. Faccinto’s night turned sour on the original start when contact with Joey Ancona sent the No. x1 around and to a stop. Credit goes to Faccinto who continued from the rear of the field to finish the race in 7th.

Ancona was able to lead the first part of the race. As laps continued, he began to slip back just a bit, but still finished a respectable 5th place. Sean Becker held the sixth spot for most of the race. At the checkered it was the spot that he finished. Michael Ing should be credited with a great race tonight. Ing brough his family car home eighth and was the last driver on the lead lap after the 30 circuits had been completed.

Nick Parker won the 12-lap B main event. Parker passed and then held off Stephen Ingraham for the win. Third went to Bill Smith. John Clark finished fourth. Jennifer Osborne finished fifth and secured the final transfer spot into the A main.

The 20-lap Hobby stock main event was entertaining and ended with a photo finish. Clinton Earl held the lead for a majority of the race. Behind him Dan Webster was trying to keep Aaron Flournoy behind him for the second spot on the track. Late in the race, Flournoy passed Webster. Earl took the white flag as the leader but couldn’t secure the win. Coming out of turn four, Flournoy made a hero’s move and passed Earl to win the race. The crowd was appreciative of the race and honored both drivers with loud applause and standing up to congratulate the winner. Earl finished second. Devin Koranda charged from 11th starting to spot to secure the third spot. Webster finished fourth. Kyle Allen rounded out the top five. On lap nine, Tyler Tatum hit the wall coming out of turn four. His car began to roll over and then came to a stop. The red flag was needed. Thankfully, Tatum quickly climbed from his car and was uninjured. Bill Patterson won the first eight-lap heat race. Allen secured the win during the second heat race.
