July 4th Event Canceled; Next Race is July 18th

The July 4th Event at Silver Dollar Speedway is Canceled Due To the Tragic Esparto Explosion
CHICO, Calif., July 2, 2025 – SLC Promotions and the Silver Dollar Speedway were excited and geared up to host the annual Fast Cars and Freedom event this Friday night on July 4th. Sadly, we were informed today, Wednesday mid-morning, that the fireworks intended for our show on Friday night were destroyed during the horrific explosion that occurred in a facility near Esparto in Yolo County on Tuesday. We extend our condolences to those affected by this explosion and the families of the seven people still missing.
With the sudden knowledge of no fireworks, SLC Promotions felt the necessary thing to do was cancel the entire event, including the auto races. Our partner, Devasting Pyrotechnics, takes pride in giving the Chico area the best fireworks show. We want to send them our heartfelt, sincere wishes as they deal with this destructive disaster.
With the entire event being cancelled, all tickets that were purchased for the Fast Cars and Freedom July 4th event will be refunded automatically to the Card they used.
While there will be no racing this Friday July 4th, the Silver Dollar Speedway is back in action on July 18th with fan appreciation night. The grandstand tickets are just $5.00 per person to watch an incredible night of racing featuring the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, Hobby Stocks and Sport Mods. Originally, the Sport Mods last race this season was going to be this Friday. However, we are adding them to the July 18th show to give them another night of racing.
